Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 37th annual Fur Ball to celebrate the magic of changing animal lives! In one record-breaking evening, we raised nearly $1.5 million for animals in need. From the pink carpet and fabulous auction items to the after-party and — of course — puppies, the night was filled with energy, compassion and joy!

The Original Dog Beach

Perhaps the most popular canine hotspot in San Diego is The Original Dog Beach located at the northern end of Ocean Beach. Here, dogs can roam off leash at any time of the day. Owners should take care to pick up after their pets. After a day at the beach, you may want to head over to the Dog Beach Dog Wash to give Fido a bath.
Fiesta Island Park

Most of this large sandy island in Mission Bay is designated leash-free for dogs. Fiesta Island Off-Leash Dog Park has lots of sandy dunes to romp in, and the calm bay waters allow the more adventurous dogs take a quick dip. There is a designated off-leash location on the backside of the island as Sea World will be on your left, fenced-in front with signs. Bring water for your dogs.

Leashed dogs are welcome on the beach at La Jolla Cove, in San Diego, CA before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m. from April 1 to October 31, and before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m. from November 1 to March 31. The beach is located at the northeast end of Ellen Browning Scripps Park. Take Fido for a walk above the bluffs on the La Jolla Coast Walk Trail, explore tide pools, or find a spot on the beach to relax. Always keep dogs away from wildlife.

Located in San Diego, the park has plenty of open spaces, gardens, and walking paths in addition to the San Diego Zoo, museums, and theaters. There are also two designated off-leash areas for dogs to explore at Balboa Dr at El Prado on the south side of Cabrillo Bridge and Morley Field located northwest of the tennis courts. When not in a designated off-leash area, dogs must be leashed at all time, and humans must clean up after their dogs throughout the park and off-leash areas.
